Breakfast in Penang: Fu Er Dai Dim Sum 富二代点心

If you're looking for a hearty and satisfying breakfast in Penang, dim sum is the way to go. I wanted to bring my family for breakfast during the weekend, so I was checking out for place to go and I found this recommended dim sum place, Fu Er Dai.

Fu Er Dai Dim Sum is a popular dim sum restaurant located in Georgetown, Penang. It is known for its wide variety of delicious and affordable dim sum dishes.

The restaurant is always crowded, especially during weekends, so it is best to make a reservation in advance. One thing I love about this place is the ample of free parking space.

The menu at Fu Er Dai Dim Sum features more than 30 choices of dim sum dishes, including prawn dumpling (har gow), siu mai, steamed golden bun, chee cheong fun, and many more. The dishes are all made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection.

Varieties of dim sum selection

Ordering in here is easy too as once seated, they will asked you what tea/drinks that you want, and then hand over a card paper (sheet) for you to bring along when you order.

Just go to the counter where they have few sections of dim sums, paos and fried dim sum to pick and choose what you want to eat. Pass the card paper to the staff and they will help you to tick the items that you ordered.

Here are some tips for ordering dim sum at Fu Er Dai Dim Sum: Start with the steamed dishes, such as har gow and siu mai. These are the most popular dim sum dishes and are a good way to get a taste of the restaurant's cooking.

Don't forget to try their famous steamed golden lava bun. These signature steamed buns are filled with generous fillings of salted egg yolk custard. You can also try the fried version exploding salted egg yolk custard bun.

Don't be afraid to ask the waiter for recommendations. They are happy to help you choose the best dishes for your taste.
